This is probably the easiest job on earth. In all these years that I’ve been following public companies, I’ve never seen any corporate spokesperson being quoted for something substantial. All I can remember is the usual – “it’s our corporate policy not to comment on rumors” or its variations. When there is actually something important to be announced, it’s always the CEO or CFO who delivers the speech. It makes you wonder whether “corporate spokesperson” is an oxymoron.
